I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but the landscape of marketing your products and services online is changing …once again.

Are you keeping up?

I remember a time when you could send out a marketing message to your audience promoting the latest greatest software, training, Ebook , etc. and get loads of sales.

That’s not working anymore. At least not for most peeps.

You wanna know why?

Because people want results.

They are not looking for that business band aid or shiny quick fix. They want the main thing that will provide them a solution to the problems.

It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in, everybody is looking for a solution.

So how do you give them what they really want.

Simple.

You’ve gotta ask them.

And…

You’ve gotta pay attention to what they are saying and what they’re not saying.

Here’s what I mean…

I recently asked 83 people on my list to tell me exactly what they wanted in their business.

Only 39 of them responded. That’s okay. It’s not important how many responded; what’s important is what those who responded asked for.

I want you to pay close attention because I’m about to show you exactly how you can take those answers and build a pretty lucrative business with it.

Here’s how it will work:

I’m going to tell you what they said and next I’m going to tell you exactly what I heard.

Okay, are you ready?

Here we go…

1. 11 people said they wanted more traffic hitting seeing their offers; I heard them say they wanted more of their traffic converting into sales.
2. 19 people said they wanted to build a BIGGER list; I heard them say they wanted a list of highly responsive list of customers and raving fans.
3. 7 people said they wanted to make 5k a month; I heard them say they needed an automated recurring income system that would leverage their time and give them more freedom.
4. 1 person said she wanted to make 1k a month without having to create their own products; I heard her say that she needs a high-converting affiliate system that could make her at least 12k a year.
5. 1 person responded with a message filled with so much ridiculousness that I just removed him from my list. The truth is… if I know I can’t help you, I won’t even attempt to waste your time. I certainly won’t give you permission to waste mine.

Here’s what happened next…

Through the power of email automation and segmentation, I was able to place these 39 peeps on interest lists that were based on their answers. That way I could communicate with them according to what they asked for (actually what I really heard them ask for). 😉

Next, I reached out to them and offered them some help.

Not everyone responded. Actually, only 19 responded.

For those that responded, I invited them to get on a 1-on-1 call with me and 17 of them took me up on my offer.

The reason I offered to get on a call with them is because I knew they were serious about their answer to me. Remember, we started out with 83 people and now we are down to 17. These folks have been through a few hoops to reach that point, so their commitment was strong and I knew that I could help them.

Here’s what happened next…

Of those 17 people that I offered to get on a call with, all 17 showed up for their call with me! Yes – a 100% show up rate!

On the call we discussed their business, their current situation, how long they’ve been in business, and we addressed their answer regarding what they wanted in their business.

After they explained their answer a little further, I begin to discuss with them what they could do to get better results. Yes, I actually gave them some free advice they could use! I know, “Who the heck does that?” I DO. 🙂

Anyway…

After I explained to them what they could do… I said these 5 words:

“Would you like some help?”

The result… Are you ready?

16 said YES!

Think about this for a moment…

The reason why they said yes is because they have been down the road of trying things on their own. They have seen the results of their efforts and it hasn’t been pretty.

NOW, they are sitting on a call with a dude who not only asked them what they needed help with, but also shared with them a strategy for FREE. And then to top it all off, offered to help them!

I say again, “Who the heck does that?”

I DO.

You see, when you can address the problem your audience has and show them upfront how they can overcome it, guess who they see as the authority who can help them through this?

YOU. Period.

The reason why you’re not getting the results you’ve been seeking is because you’ve been following the herd. You are diving head first into the world of copycat marketing and instead of providing your audience with solutions, you’re providing quick fixes, digital band aids, and the latest greatest product of the day.

IT’S NOT WORKING LIKE IT USED TO!

You need to dare to be different. Your future and the future of your clients depend on it. They want the result. They want the solution and if you are willing to offer them some help, they will pay you for it.

You may be wondering what happened to the 17 people I personally got on a call with?

Over the course of about 30 days or so, 1 person is considering joining a group coaching program of mine, but hasn’t made a final commitment (yet). The other 16 have all decided to accept my offer to help them and have paid me for the solution!
